Williams Interactive är speltillverkare av slots och kallas även SG Gaming, Willams Interactive och WMS Gaming.

Williams är en del av Scientific Games Corporation (SG) och har sitt huvudkontor i Las Vegas, USA. Idag är Wiliams en del av giganten SG och kallas därför SG Gaming och ibland Willams Interactive och WMS Gaming.

SG har filialer över hela världen, även i Stockholm. Historien går långt tillbaka, ända till 1940-talet. Man började med tillverkning av flipperspel (som alla födda 1970 eller tidigare känner till).

Numera erbjuder SG Gaming, som bara erbjöd enarmade banditer för casinon, också spel för nätbaserade sajter och sociala spel, som spelas utan vinstintresse på t.ex. Facebook (exempelvis Jackpot Party Social Casino). Man har inte varit drivande av nätbaserade spel. Det är kanske inte så konstigt, med tanke på att man sitter i spelvärldens Mecka – Las Vegas. Men man insåg med tiden att framtiden åtminstone delvis ligger hos nätbaserade casinon.

Williams köptes 2013 av SG, men året innan det, så köpte Willams svenska Jadestone Group AB och det amerikanska företaget Phantom EFX. Redan då hade Willams beslutat sig för att satsa på online-marknaden. Just Phantom EFX har varit viktiga för Williams vid utvecklingen av spel för mobila enheter.

Moderbolaget SG har genom åren köpt upp en hel del företag och skaffat sig ny kompetens och är idag en av de största speltillverkarna. Vid sidan av Williams, så är företaget Bally ett sådant exempel.Under hösten 2017 ingick SG Gaming avtal om att förvärva NYX Gaming Group.

Williams Interactive erbjuder, som nämnts, inte bara endast s.k. cabinets, alltså fysiska spelautomater, utan sedan några år också slots/ spelautomater för online-bruk.

I Sverige hittar du spel från WMS på t.ex. SverigeAutomaten, Leo Vegas Casino, Casumo och Instacasino för att nämna några. Vad kännetecknar Willams Interactives spel? Det är svårt att peka på något speciellt. Man har ju trots allt inte många år som leverantör att online-spel bakom sig. Å andra sidan har man många år med först mekaniska spel och sedan elektroniska i ryggsäcken. Man har med andra ord erfarenhet. Vi kan säga att Williams idag har sitt fokus på slots. De bekantaste spelen är Spartacus, Raging Rhino och Zeus III. Grafiken är mycket snygg.

År 2014 inledde Williams ett samarbete med företaget EveryMatrix, som erbjuder en plattform för casinon på nätet, CasinoEngine. Man kan säga att man med CasinoEngine har samlat över 4000 virtuella spelautomater under ett tak för att erbjuda till varje intresserat nätcasino just det, som det casinot önskar. På så vis har Williams direkt kontakt med en komplett leverantör för internetcasinon.

Vi kommer helt säkert att få höra mera om Williams framöver, även om konkurrensen är knivskarp. Som del av en riktig gigant inom spelvärlden har Williams dock tillgång till de ekonomiska muskler som behövs för att lyckas.
